South West Somerset coastline and waterfall- 5 minute drive.
Converted priests cottage in to an Earthy, eco space.
Farm shop, butcher and bakery just minutes away.
Chapel Cottage is not just a place to stay- it’s a space created for your mind and body to exhale. The interiors are simple, calm, and curated to reduce stress. From the moment you step inside, the atmosphere invites you to slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect with yourself.
Wake to birdsong and gentle nature shadows filtering through the windows. Spend your days exploring rugged coastal paths, discovering hidden waterfalls, or walking among wild ponies in the Quantock Hills. Pick up fresh bread and produce from the village bakery and farm shop, return to the cottage, and savour slow meals by the log fire in a tranquil setting. Evenings are for lamp light, cosy corners, and the kind of stillness that modern life rarely allows.
Built in the 1880s as part of a chapel development, Chapel Cottage once housed the local priest. When I purchased it in 2022, it was in dire need of renovation- exactly the kind of project I love. With a degree in Interior Design and a passion for well-being and holistic living, I envisioned a transformation: a sanctuary that honours history while embracing natural, sustainable design.
Every detail has been carefully considered. Natural, non-toxic materials bring warmth and authenticity: chalk-painted walls, up-cycled and locally sourced furniture, wooden floors, and stone details. I designed with sustainability in mind- choosing second-hand pieces, supporting local businesses and designing with minimal environmental impact. The result is a calming, toxin-free space that feels both grounding and luxurious.
Chapel Cottage is perfectly situated for those who love nature, wellness and simple pleasures:
Endless walking trails, wildlife and breathtaking scenery.
Just five minutes away for fresh sea air and dramatic coastal paths.
A hidden gem nearby, perfect for a peaceful excursion.
Fresh, local produce right on your doorstep.
Authentic Somerset charm and delicious food.
It’s the ideal base for walkers, writers, couples, or anyone seeking slow living and natural beauty.
As a health coach and advocate for environmental psychology, I believe the spaces we inhabit directly affect our health and happiness. Chapel Cottage has been created with this philosophy at its core- earthy minimalism, well-being centred, hotel feel with a homely heart, eco-conscious living.
Walking inside, you’ll notice the difference immediately. The air feels fresher, the palette softer, the textures grounding. There is no glare or harshness, only a sense of ease, of being held by the space itself. The cottage carries the simplicity of minimalism, with layers of warmth that feel like a quiet embrace.
This is not just a holiday home; it is a place created to allow the nervous system to exhale. A place where time slows, and your senses attune to what really matters.
